The Guyana Rugby Football Union(GFRU) in its efforts to get the national team into top shape for their
Mexico sojourn and the NACRA Sevens tournament in December 3-4, 2014, will be conducting a Beep Test for the selected players today at the National Park ground.
The test would be conducted by fitness instructor Barrington Brown, from 17:00hrs (5pm) a release from the Union informed.
At the end of this test, the GRFU selectors will be announcing the final national squad which would be working under head coach Theodore Henry. The national squad would continue to train every Tuesday Wednesday Thursday and Saturday from 16:30hrs (4:30pm) and on Sunday from 09:00hrs (9am).
President of the GRFU, Peter Green, along with Patron Kit Nascimento are expected to meet the players after the fitness test.
The overseas players Vallon Adams, Claudius Butts, Richard Staglon, Peabo Hamilton and Kevin McKenzie, Dominic Lespierre are due home shortly to join the local squad. Additionally, the appointments for Captain and Head Coach of the Mexico team were made following an executive meeting Monday.
The team is expected to depart Guyana on Thursday, November 27, and from Mexico on Friday December 5, 2014.
