Three young men are in police custody at the Springlands Police Station following the break-and-entry into the computer lab at the Skeldon Line Path Secondary School on the Corentyne and the theft of 13 computer systems.
The loss of the computers sent the police along the Upper Corentyne to find the burglars. On Saturday, three men from the Line Path, Corriverton area were intercepted after two computer systems were found in a house in which one of them lived.
“One neighbour suspected and telephoned the police,” stated a reliable source. This led to the subsequent arrest of the individuals. Police are said to be hot on the trail of another suspect.
When contacted yesterday Region Six Education Officer, Ms. Volika Jaikishun, stated that she was unaware of the theft of the computer systems.
