The woman who died in her sleep and was discovered Sunday morning, died as a result of a burst blood vessel in her head. The woman Sechlonie Charlie, called ‘Shabana’ 34, of 45 Princetown, Corriverton, and Berbice was on Sunday morning found dead in her bed.
According to information the woman and one Constable Fraser, who is attached to the Whim Police Station, shared a relationship at the above address. The two spent most of Saturday at the Corriverton Town Day celebrations, reportedly sharing alcoholic beverages.
The two returned home around 01:00hrs on Sunday morning and retired to bed. Around 05:30 hrs that morning the man tried to rouse the woman, but got no response. Suspecting that something was not right help was summoned and the police arrived.
She was taken to the Skeldon Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The post mortem examination was conducted on the body on Monday at the Georgetown Public Hospital by Dr. Nehaul Singh and gave the cause of death as brain haemorrhage.
