Relatives spent another long and fruitless day searching for 68-year-old Desiree Monica Fraser, who disappeared one week ago from her Lot 66 ‘A’ Victory Valley, Wismar home.
The woman’s daughters told Kaieteur News that the search party has scoured “all the mining areas” in Linden, and reached as far as Rockstone and Ituni yesterday without finding a trace of their mother.
They said that some residents reported seeing Mrs. Fraser and some have apparently even fed her. Sharon Rogers, one of the daughters, said that because her mother is well-spoken, persons who encountered her were unaware that she suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.
The relatives are pleading with persons who encounter Mrs. Fraser to contact them immediately.
Mrs. Fraser is 68 years of age, of African descent, and is five feet four inches tall. Earlier reports had indicated that she was last seen wearing a pink top and blue skirt. However, one daughter said that had changed into a black top and black skirt.
Earlier, there were reports that the elderly woman, described as a fast walker, was seen in the Coomacka and Yararibo mines area, more than ten miles away from her home.
Persons with information about the whereabouts of Mrs. Fraser are asked to call Sharon Rogers on 444-3697 or 683-0109; Shonette Rogers on 645-0793 or 444-7116, or the nearest police station.
