F and H recorded 77 games to win the final of the Rayman Ally dominoes tournament
when the final was contested on Sunday night last at All Season Racing Service, Robb Street. Thunder placed second with 70 games while Punters finished third on 64.
Hazim Hakh and Wilfred Austin made 16 games each for the winners, Faye Joseph and Gillian Hyman scored 15 apiece for Thunder, while Clarence Whitehead made 16 and Rawl Peters 15 for Punters. F and H pocketed a trophy and $70,000 and Thunder $30,000.
Meanwhile, the Champion of champions’ dominoes tournament will commence on October 25 at Gaulding Place, South Ruimveldt. Entrance fee is $15,000 and the competition is only open for teams that won finals in 2014. The winning team will take home a trophy and $175,000 compliments of Golyn and Sons of Stabroek Market. The runner up will pocket a trophy and $80,000 and third place a trophy and $40,000 sponsored by Faye Joseph.
One re-entry will be permitted. Among the teams set to battle are TNT, Mix Up, R and R, All Season Racing Service, Rage and Specialist. Double six time is 15:00 hrs. The finals will be played on October 26.
Teams will warm up for the tournament on Thursday night with a 20/20 competition at Strikers venue, Meadow Brook. Entrance fee is $10,000 and the winner will receive $90,000, second place $40,000 and third place $20,000.
Golyn and Sons presented the trophy and cheque for the first place team to secretary of the Georgetown Dominoes Association (GDA) Mark Wiltshire yesterday at their Stabroek Market location.
