Gordon (4 for 19), Clements (55 n.o.) lead Universal Solutions Bermine into playoffs
Young Warriors win zone and also advance
Young Warriors and Universal Solution Bermine both won their final Zone B preliminary matches to end up as winners
and runners up respectively of that zone earning the right to advance to the playoffs of the 2014 Carib Beer First Division T20 Cricketer Competition in Berbice.
Former Guyana and now Canada pacer Jeremy Gordon on a short visit home, took 4 for 19 from 4 overs for Universal Solutions Bermine to help keep Police down to a manageable 130 for 6 in 30 overs after a threatening opening stand of 81 in 13 overs between Brentnol Woolford (49 with 3 fours) and Albert Sinclair (28). When Bermine replied, the accurate Police bowling attack had them shakily placed at 61 for 4 in the 10th over, but Berbice Senior Allrounder Devon Clements (55 n.o with 3 fours and 1 six) and former Demerara allrounder Damien Vantull (31 n.o.) batted resolutely in the face of determined bowling too see Bermine home in the last over.
Young Warriors for their part restricted Edinburg to 110 for 9 in their 20 overs, thanks mainly to pacer Vishal Mohabir picking up 3 for 18 from 4 overs. In reply, Berbice batsman Seon Hetmyer scored 39 and his brother, West Indies Under-19 opener Shimron Hetmyer 29 saw Warriors to a 6 wicket victory with 7.1 overs to spare.

20 overs with Joseph Gidding 32 and Shawn Baksh 29. Vishal Mohabir 3 for 18, Kevin Ramdeen 2 for 11 and Linden Austin 2 for 15. Young Warriors 115 for 4 in 12.5 overs with Seon Hetmyer 39, Shimron Hetmyer 27 and Vishal Mohabir 25 n.o. Zaheer Hussain took 3 for 26.
At D’Edward, West Berbice beat D’Edward by 99 runs. West Berbice choosing to bat made 173 for 7 in 20 overs. Keith Fraser 57, Arthley Bailey 42, Steffon Adams 32. Lakeraj Sookra 5 for 24, Christian France 2 for 19. D’Edward in reply 74 16 overs with Lakeraj Sookra 22. Krishendat Ramoo took 3 for 6 and Steffon Adams 3 for 12.
At Blairmont, Bush Lot Rising Star beat Blairmont Community Center by 3 runs. Bush Lot Rising Star sent in 87 for 8 in 20 overs with Keyron Fraser 21. Ravindra Somwaru 3 for 17 from 4 overs, Adim Shoetahal 3 for 9 from 4 overs, Shabbir Baksh 2 for 12 from 4 overs. Blairmont 84 for 7 in 20 overs with Zamin Inshan 21.
