All-rounder Damion Waldron grabbed four wickets before returning with the bat to score a half century as Unity defeated Randy XI by six wickets when the East Coast Cricket Committee (ECCC) 50-over tournament continued last weekend.
Playing at Unity, Randy XI batted first and were bowled out for 155 in 34.1 overs. Asif Rai struck 43, Waldron ended with 4-37 and Dellon Ross 2-23. Unity replied with 158-4 in 30.1 overs. Waldron slammed 51 and Deon Ferrier 48 not out.
At Enmore, Bravados overcame the home team by two runs in a match which was reduced to 20 overs due to rain. Bravados batted first and posted 115 all out in 19.4 overs. Kellon Carmichael stroked 46; Yuvraj Dyal snared 3-18 and Gavin Moriah 3-20. The host mustered for 113-6 in 20 overs in reply. Vishwanauth Ramlakhan cracked 63 not out, Eon Gilkes claimed 2-23.
On Saturday, the game between host Enmore and Cummings Lodge was rained out after Enmore took first strike and rattled up 239-9 in 40 overs. Ramlakhan scored 40; D. Thomas captured 3-50 and A. Persaud 2-30.
Previously, Golden Grove got the better of Unity by 45 runs. Golden Grove managed 245-9 in 50 overs, batting first at Unity ground. Lallchan Harrichand led with 47 and Orin Nelson made 40. K. Farouk and L. Persaud bagged three wickets each. Unity were sent packing for 170 in 25 overs in response. T. Hassan scored 58 and R. Persaud 44. Wesley Henry bagged 5-17 and Quacy Cummings 2-17.
At Ogle, Lusignan hammered the home team by 88 runs. Lusignan took first knock and piled up 312-7 in 50 overs. Steve Ramdass smashed 107, Brian Sattaur 90 and Steve Allick 55. Irfan Ali and Sanichar (only name given) picked up two wickets apiece. Ogle responded with 224-9 in 50 overs. Brian Sukram made 55 and Sahadeo Ramkhellawan 44. Rajendra Naikbaran claimed 3-24 and Sattaur 2-52.
At Enmore, the home team thumped Mahaica by 183 runs. Enmore posted 277-8 in 50 overs, taking first strike. Christopher Surat slammed 62 and Yuvraj Dyal 43. S. Singh took 3-29 and N. Shaw 2-19. The visitors were skittled for 94 in reply. Nandram Ganesh bagged 6-25.
