The Bush Lot United Turf Club (BLUTC) has begun preparations for its feature grand annual one day horserace meet slated for Sunday 16th November at the club’s entity Sea View Park Bush Lot Village, West Coast Berbice.
The venue, which has been rated as the most improved over the years, is also known for its high standard of racing and the principals are bent on keeping it that way as they strive to be among the best in the country.
So far all the major stables including Jumbo Jet, Shariff, Elcock, Crawford, Jagdeo, Simple Royal, Night Eyes, Habibulla, Sooklall, Dookie and Robinson among others have so far indicated an interested in being a part of the days programme.
A number of sponsors including Banks DIH, Buddy Shivraj, Jumbo Jet, Inshan Bacchus Trucking Service, Mohammed ‘Nankoo’ Shariff and Lakeram ‘Buddy’ Sukhdeo have indicated their willingness to help sponsor the day’s activity.
With so much on offer an action pack day of racing is anticipated. Already sprucing up works has commenced at the venue which is expected to be in tip top shape come race day.
A number of feature races are listed on the day’s card with races for C, F, G, and the three and two year old events being the main attractions.
The Feature race will be for horses classified ‘C’ and lower for a $1M first prize from a total prize package of 2M and trophy with the animals set to cover a 1600M.
There is the event for horses classified F and lower with the top notch field expected to compete for the $500,000 and trophy over 1400M.
The three Year old animals Bred and Born in Guyana and the West Indies have an encouraging first prize of $500,000 and trophy over 1600M to aim for.
The event for two year old Guyana and West Indies Bred horses which will see the winner running away with $400,000 and trophy over 1200M.
The race for horses classified G3 and lower will also be a 1200M affair with the animals running for a winning purse of $400,000 and trophy.
The ‘I’ and lower event is another 1200M race for a winning purse of $250,000 and trophy.
Horses entered for the J and lower race have a pole position taking of $200,000 and trophy over 1400M.
The final event will see the animals classified K and lower galloping for a winning take of $150,000 and trophy over 1200M.
The individual performers including top jockey, stable and trainer will be presented with trophies compliments of the organizers.
