champion Rondell Daby, his sibling Peter, Anand Ramchand, Vijay Danram, Sunil Singh and the visiting Surinamese contingent are in for plenty trouble Sunday when the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC) stages its International Meet, at the South Dakota Circuit.
Persaud, who drives a Mazda RX 7 machine, was speaking with Kaieteur Sport yesterday at the GMR&SC where he announced in the presence of most of the opposition that he is rearing and ready to take over the reign as the new champion in Drag Racing.
“Rondell (Daby) is the current champion and he will have to drive out of his skin to resist the challenge I will pose to him and any opther competitors come Sunday,” Persaud told this newspaper.
According to Persaud, his car is in excellent shape, having undergone some recent work and he is confident that it will perform well against the competition.
He further disclosed that the competitors from the Dutch territory have confirmed participation and while it is his aim to dominate the day’s proceedings, another priority of his is to ensure that they do not come here and upstage the locals in front of the anticipated partisan support that is expected.
