Queenstown and Affiance recorded victories when play in the Central Essequibo T20 tournament continued on Sunday last.
At Imam Bacchus ground, Queenstown defeated Cotton Field by 77 runs. Batting first Queenstown rattled up 168- 5 in 20 overs. Eknauth Persaud slammed 80 (7×4,4×6), Herrel Green made 43 (4×4, 3×6) and extras contributed 26. Bowling for Cotton Field, Ravi Singh took 2 -30 while Travis Simon and Narendra Mandolall had one each.
In reply, Cotton field were bowled out for 91 in 14 Overs. Mandolall stroked 35 (5×4,1×6) and extras assisted with 25. Herrel Green bagged 5 for 25 and Eknauth Persaud 2-15.
Earlier at the said venue, Affiance overcame Imam Bacchus Sports Club by 48 runs. Affiance took first strike and managed 140- 5 off their allotted overs. Ganesh Mangal struck 45 (3×4,4×6) and Hemant Boodnie 42 (3×4). Kulraj Persaud captured 3-30 while Latchman Rohit, Bevon Adams and De Andre George picked up one apiece.
Imam Bacchus Sports Club were bowled out for 92 in 17.1 overs in response. Yougeshwar Lall scored 29(5×4) and Seenauth Balbadar 17(1×4,1×6). Kumar Kissoon snared 3-25 while Yaseer Mohamed, Ganesh Mangal and Devendra Narine claimed two each.
The Competition continues tomorrow with Affiance hosting Cotton Field and Imam Bacchus Sports Club entertaining Bush Lot. Queenstown draw the bye.
