Planet Paintball Guyana (PPG) will be hosting an Open three-player competition at its Woolford Avenue, Georgetown
Paintball Park (Opposite Stella Maris Primary School) tomorrow. PPG will continue with Paint Only Saturdays every Saturday.
Speaking to Kaieteur Sport yesterday, Chief Executive Officer of PPG, Reona Cathro, indicated that “Teams that want to participate can register up to five players, but only three players will be allowed to play each match. Matches will be played in the round-robin format whereby all teams will play all other teams for points.”
According to Cathro, registration fee is $5000 per-team, and all registration fees will go into the winners’ pool for the first place team. “To register a team and join in the excitement call 668 2344 or 691 0708 or email:[email protected] or message PPG on their facebook page: Planet Paintball Guyana,” Cathro informed.
PPG will continue to bring the sport of paintball within the reach of everyone with its Paint Only Saturdays. Starting tomorrow, and every following Saturday, anyone playing at the Woolford Avenue Paintball Park will pay no site fee to rent gears.
“That’s right! No fees to play; all you need to do is purchase your paint and you are good to go! Never played paintball before, but always wanted to? Well now you have no excuse not to give this amazing sport a try. Just turn up, buy your paintballs and join in the fun and excitement,” an enthused Cathro encouraged.
Planet Paintball began operations in August 2012 and since then the sport has been stretched to different facilities, including the National Insurance Scheme Ground on CARIFESTA Avenue, the Jackie Robertson Sports Ground on the East Coast (before UG road) and Dakota Park near the South Dakota Circuit on the Linden/Soesdyke Highway.
The founders of Planet Paintball Guyana, Chris and Reona Cathro, is committed to development of the sport, which is globally played and recognised through the National Paintball Professional League (NPPL) with 18 franchise teams in the United States of America.
The World Ultimate Woodsball League appointed Planet Paintball the official ‘Ultimate League’ status in Guyana. With this appointment, Guyanese players can now play League and tournament games and receive an international player and team ranking among 180 countries.
