10 races on the card, close to $8M on offer
As preparations picked up for the Kennard’s Memorial Turf Club/People’s Progressive Party one-day meet one more race has been added to the day’s card.
The event which is slated for Sunday 12th October at the Club’s entity Bush Lot Farm Corentyne, Berbice has seen the addition of an event for K and L class horses for a winning purse of $140,000 over 1000M.
The day’s event is expected to be entertaining with total purses of close to $8M in cash and trophies up for grab with the animals set to compete for the President’s Cup and the General Secretary trophy.
The A and lower event will once again be the feature attraction on the day’s card and is expected to see a renewed clash among the likes of Score’s Even, California Strike and Treacle among others. They will be competing for a hefty first prize of $1.5M from a total package of $2.9M over 1600M.
The other events listed for the day are the race for horses classified D3 non-winner in 2014 & E & Lower for a winning take of $600,000 and trophy over 1400M.
The Incentive for the winner in the F3 and lower 1400M event is also worth $400,000.
Two-year-old West Indies Bred animals will be racing for winners’ money of $300,000 and trophy over 1000M.
There is a race for G3 non winners in 2014 over 1400M and will see the winner taking away the $300,000 first prize and trophy.
The Guyana Bred two-years-old animals will have their chance to compete for a first prize of $200,000 and trophy also over 1000M.
Racing fans will witness the top ‘I’ class horses racing for a winning of $220,000 and trophy over 1400M. The J1 class animals 1000M sprint has a winner’s prize of $200,000 and trophy.
The final event on the day horses classified J3 and lower compete for a top prize of $180,000 and trophy also over 1000M.
The final event will be for K and L horses for winning $140,000 top prize and trophy over 1000M.
With so much on offer an action packed day of racing is anticipated. The top individual performers will be presented with accolades compliments of Ramesh Sunich of Trophy Stall Bourda Market.
Entries are expected to close on the 7th of October.
