With hours to go before the grand opening of GuyExpo 2014, the National Exhibition Centre is indeed blooming, as exhibitors make the final adjustments to their booths and put the finishing touches on their exhibits.
GuyExpo 2014 will be hosted under the theme “Transformation: Partnering for a Better Guyana”, and will showcase the best Guyana has to offer in the areas of business and commerce.
According to the Trade Ministry, registration for this highly anticipated Trade Fair and Expo has closed, and those fortunate enough to have secured their position are busy making final adjustments in anticipation of welcoming the thousands that will throng the venue from October 2.
The Guyana Supermarket is one of the main focal points and the inspiration for all to ‘Buy Local, Eat Local, Live Local’.
“With the aim of promoting local companies, products, ideas and talents, a Business and Networking Forum is billed for October 3 at the Guyana International Conference Centre, from 9:30 hours. During these sessions, there will be presentations by Go Invest on the Investment Climate and Incentives Offered in Guyana; other presentations will be delivered by the Private Sector Commission, Guyana Geology and Mines, Guyana Tourism Authority, and New GMC.”
Over the years, the GuyExpo Committee continues to place emphasis on ensuring that local businesses find markets for their products and services and that those integral linkages with overseas buyers are created.
As an indicator of the international interest generated, the international pavilion is filled with representatives from foreign countries, among them Trinidad, Barbados, India, USA, Pakistan, Argentina, Brazil, Bangladesh, French Guiana and Suriname.
During the expo, several meetings will be facilitated for both investors and buyers and a specific meeting area has been identified for this purpose; this will see GuyExpo realizing its potential as a marketplace for negotiations, networking, and sales.
