DEAR EDITOR,
I am almost certain that Mr. Ralph Ramkarran is having a migraine over the headline in the Kaieteur News of September 22 – “Elections in Guyana cannot be rigged” (attributed to his deductions).
The PPP has rigged every election from 1992 onwards. What about shifting names of known PNC voters to areas they could not access on voting day? What about the OTHER voters’ lists prepared with the assistance of a certain BIG company? What about the Computer technician/specialist who had himself locked (alone) in the computer room where the results were tabulated? What about the far-flung areas where ballot boxes were opened the day before elections and ballots were marked by the Polling Day staff who were all PPP supporters and who boasted of their misdeeds? What about the Returning Officer for a certain Region being so sure that all rigging bases were covered that he drank himself into a drunken stupor from the day before elections and only stopped imbibing the alcohol in time to accompany the ballot boxes to Georgetown? What about the time when voters’ names were on the list outside the place of Poll and not on the Presiding Officers’ list inside and they were disenfranchised? What about? What about?
I do hope that it is a case of some wicked person hacking into Mr. Ramkarran’s blog and writing that which is so far from the truth that it would have made Agatha Christie envious.
