The nation’s race walkers are will set the East Coast alight when the Cavaliers Sports and Tour Club (CS&TC) stages a race walk in commemoration of Education Month activities along the East Coast corridor, this morning.
Competitors are asked to convene at the President’s College, Golden Grove at 06:00 hrs to facilitate a prompt start half an hour later. The race will then proceed to the Village Market before the walkers retrace their steps to the place of origin.
The race would be contested in several categories including senior male and female, juniors, veteran and the differently able. Prizes would be awarded to the first three finishers in the respective categories.
Meanwhile, the walkers will be in action again on Sunday October 12 when the CS&TC organizes another event, the World Food Day and Agriculture Month 2014 Race Walk.
The walkers will congregate at the Guyana School of Agriculture, Mon Repos at 06:00hrs on the morning of the event, proceed to the road head and back to the starting point. Prizes will be given to the first three finishers.
