The Kennard Memorial Turf Club will be the venue for a grand nine event horserace meet set for Sunday 12th of October at the Club’s entity Bush Lot Farm Corentyne, Berbice.
The event, which will be held in collaboration with the People’s Progressive Party, will feature the President’s Cup and General Secretary Trophy being at stake.
The seven race meet has so far attracted over 60 entries with most of the top horses set to compete for the $4M in prize money and trophies that are at stake.
The races cater for everyone and is expected to see an exhilarating day of racing unfold.
The A class feature event has an attractive $1.5M and the Presidents Cup up for the takings and is expected to attract the best in the business over 1600M.
The other events listed for the day are the race for horses classified D3 non-winner in 2014 & E & Lower for a winning take of $600,000 and trophy over 1400M. The Incentive for the winner in the F3 and lower 1400M event is also worth $400,000.
Two year old West Indies Bred animals will be racing for a winners money of $300,000 and trophy over 1000M. There is a race for G3 non-winners in 2014 over 1400M and will see the winner taking away the $300,000 first prize and trophy.
The Guyana Bred two years old animals will have their chance to compete for a first prize of $200,000 and trophy also over 1000M. Racing fans will see the top ‘I’ class horses racing for a winning take of $220,000 and trophy over 1400M. The J1 class horses 1000M sprint has a winner’s prize of $200,000 and trophy.
The final event on the day will see the horses classified J3 and lower competing for a top prize of $180,000 and trophy also over 1000M.
With so much on offer an action pack day of racing is anticipated. The top individual performers will be presented with accolades compliments of Ramesh Sunich of Trophy Stall, Bourda Market.
