Several area committees in Essequibo yesterday benefitted from the Guyana Cricket
Board (GCB) development outreach programme.
The board donated two boxes of balls and $50,000 each to the cricket authorities in Wakenaam, Bartica and Pomeroon.
Speaking at the simple ceremony held at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground Bourda, President of the Essequibo Cricket Board (ECB), Fizul Bacchus said this initiative will aid the development of the game in the county and thanked the GCB for their input.
Leguan, East Bank, South and Central Essequibo cricket committees have also benefitted from the programme.
