Dear Editor,
The Leader that can capture a plurality of votes must be the Presidential candidate on the opposition front.
‘’it is the divergent ideas of two that creates the synthesis of things to bring about the dynamic of movement that cannot be stopped.”
As I examined the chain of blogs across the social media I see a Guyana more divided than I thought, with two sides still hardened in their conceited paranoia for power and an insipid calculus to dominate each other.
A real and frightening polarization seems to be widening and an inherent fear seem to pervade the realization that the gulf ahead is real. A dogma no longer relevant for our time etches its final proof that a conflagration is likely inevitable, must furnace the illusions that we as a people must no longer live out a philosophy of divide and rule, the tenets shaped and designed by the stewards of a colonial era, and inflicted upon us yet, leaving scares still visibly abominable and still executed by those now governing within a post-colonial era.
While our people pander, many with emotion indelibly fused by the philanthropy of old men still set in a prism of self-seeking authority from a mass of people still caught in the web of naked lusts for power at any costs, our people are drawn hither and thither into and by those who scheme, to lock each of us away from each other so that few can thrive in a deadbeat game that diminish.
How do we destroy the philosophy of divide and rule that remain the premise of our suffering. Most of us Guyanese have established from the onset that the PPP has overstayed its welcome. Most of us I dare say, want the PPP no more. So how do we address the challenge before each of us to execute the imperative which must now be to frame the strategy that must be undertaken to accomplish this dream?
In the process of dialogue we must achieve the status where we can subordinate ourselves to what is best for the whole. That becomes difficult the more we are driven by vain selfish expectations.
The change we seek is near but to achieve it we must rise above the havoc of divisiveness and confusion and dispel the blindness of race and ethnic divide. While we engage in a free and fair discussion of the way forward I implore my fellow countrymen and country women to examine one very important consideration, ‘Who is the Presidential candidate that can capture the plurality of votes necessary to win the impending general election.’
It is only this consideration that will count when Guyanese go to the next poll to dislodge the PPP dictatorship; all other analysis and invective will remain mute.
