The Young Warriors Cricket Club of Cumberland Village, East Canje, Berbice, is pleading with the general public to assist with recovering their pitch covers, which was stolen Sunday night from the ground. The members of the club expressed shock and disappointment that people can be so heartless to steal such an important piece of equipment which is used to take care of the cricket venue.
The venue has produced many national cricketers and has made a difference in the lives of many people in the Canje area. This is a real shame and the club calls on the police to apprehend the perpetrators and deal with them accordingly. Anyone having information with regards to stolen covers can contact Anil Beharry on 623-6875, Hubern Evans 624-3275 and Sahadeo Singh on 617-1103. All information will be treated with confidence.
