Guyana Defence Force (GDF) defeated Transport Sports Club (TSC) by eight wickets when the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Hadi’s World City Mall Inc first division two-day tournament continued last weekend with one game.
Host GDF batted first and posted 210 all out in 76.1 overs. Marcus Watkins and Cylus Sam scored 34 each; Randy Lindore made 33 and Paul O Neil 31. Off spinner Azeem Azeez grabbed 4-31 and Kevin Ross 2-47. TSC were sent packing for 75 in 18.1 overs in reply. Azeez and Charwayne McPherson were the only batsmen that reached double figures with 18 and 11 respectively. Pacer Gilford Moore bagged 5-21 and Orlando Tanner 3-20.
Trailing by 135, TSC managed 164 before they were bowled out in 51.3 overs in their second turn at the crease. Ryan Hemraj cracked 46 and Azeez 31. Kenswel DeJonge picked up 5-43 and O Neil claimed two wickets.
Set 29 for victory GDF reached their target for the lost of two wickets. Damian Ross made an unbeaten 15 and Watkins eight not out.
