Guyana’s Number one racehorse Score’s Even is among the over 65 horses that have now entered for the Alness Turf Club one day horserace meet slated for Sunday September 28th at the club’s entity, Alness Village, Corentyne, Berbice.
One more race has been added to the card to bring the total to eight which has over $4.5M in cash, trophies and other goodies up for the taking.
Meanwhile, a number of sponsors including Banks DIH Limited, Guyana Tourism Authority, Nand Persaud and Sons Group of Companies, Mohammed ‘Nanko’ Shariff Business Enterprise and Racing Stable, Fazal Habibulla, Attorney at Law Ryan Crawford, J Ashrafally (Papie) Supermarket, Dennis DeRoop Simple Royal Stable, Choke Gas Station, Kanhai Electrical Agency, R Matadial, Jockey Randolph Richmond and Family among others are onboard.
Fans are expected to pour out in numbers to the famous Alness Turf Club as Score’s Even is expected to be back in action in the feature ‘A’ class and lower 1600M event. $2M is at stake with a sumptuous $1M and trophy compliments of Banks DIH Limited available for the winner of that race.
Apart from Score’s Even, the lineup includes California Strike, Set for Fame, Church House, Dark and Lovely, Run Nana Run, Bridal Stone Corner and Young Elite. Horses such as Swing Easy, Bridal Stone corner, Settle In Seattle, Weekend Surprise, Top Of The line and Marathon Man have been entered so far for the F and lower 1200M event which will see them galloping for a winning purse of $350,000 and trophy.
The G3 and lower event over 1400M has so far attracted a star studded field with Shooting Star, Secret Circle, Silent Night, Sent From Above, Marathon Man, Prince Paige, Weekend Surprise looking to spring a surprise for the first prize of $275,000 and trophy.
The ‘I and lower1200M even will see among others Mary Ann, Affinity, Smarty Light, Royal Cash, Dance For Gold, Lady Secret, The Road Is Mine, Miss Messiah and Famous Pride racing for a first prize money of $200,000 and trophy.
Prince Bayaya, Wicket Revenge, Royal Cash, Cart Man, Red Steel, Iron Man, Red Jet, Lady Secret, Smarty Light, The Road Is Mine, Slim Shady, Famous Pride and Dance for Gold are among those looking for the gold in the ‘J1’ and lower 1000M event, a winning pocket of $170,000 and trophy.
The race for animals classified J3 and lower has a full complement of horses lined up to compete for the winners’ money of $140,000 and trophy over 1100M. The likes of Iron man, Prince Bayaya, Speed Vision, Wicked Revenge, It’s My Time, Quincy, Cart Man, Gangster, Journey, Go Zapper, Windy Killer, Princess Stallion and Royal Intention are among the contenders.
The K and lower event will fetch a winning prize of $90,000 and trophy over 1000M with Flying Colours, Fit To Fight, Lucky Star, Sophia’s Choice, Brown Boy, Triple S and Iron Man set to run, while a number of other horses have entered the J class events along with the I3 event.
There is an event for unclassified animals over 4 furlongs with Sweet Man, Fit To Fight, Flying Colours Sofia’s Choice, Flying Private and Brown Boy among the early entrants in the event.
Outstanding individual performers including top Jockey, trainer and stable will be presented with trophies and other incentives compliments of the organizers.
