The debate over which is the better team has prompted organizers of the Guyana Police Force to plan a football match
between the two factions, the Ex-Police Players and those of the current crop, to settle once and for all, this troubling issue. Consequently, the two teams are scheduled to face off at the Police Sports Club Ground, Friday September 19 at 16:30hrs to settle the issue.
One of the players of the Ex-Police team, also an integral part of the organizing committee, Joel Gibson, explained that the encounter was birthed after a heated discussion that failed to definitively determine which team was the better. “So this match will finally put the issue to rest,” he said.
Gibson will also double as a player and among some of the other names to be featured are Commander of ‘A’ Division, Clifton Hicken, Ivelaw Bascom, Nigel Messiah, Jolly Lewis, Owen McGarrell, John Punch, Deon Barnwell, James Fordyce, Gladstone Hyman, Delon Josiah, John Bruce, Linden Wilson, Ewart Greenville, Adrian Forde, Conrad Ambrose and Vincent Humphrey.
