The three-member badminton team of manager/coach Gokarn Ramdhani and Guyana’s two top
male players, Narayan Ramdhani and Nicholas Ali, departed Guyana to attend the Pan American Sports Festival Badminton Tournament in Queretaro, Mexico September 10-16, 2014.
The players will compete in the Open Men Singles and Doubles against some of the top players in the Pan American region. “Although our players are still in the Junior Divisions, we know that this level of the tournament will help them to gain higher standards for their future events and they will play their best to gain as much points as possible,” a release from the Badminton Association stated.
The first two days September 11-12, Gokarn Ramdhani will be attended the Coaches Conference, while the players will practice for the Tournament which began yesterday and will run until Monday 15 of September at the General Jose Maria Arteaga Gimnasio Badminton Hall.
The opening ceremony was held at the Holiday Inn Hotel where the games were officially opened.
