Boxing fans that would have stayed up to view the Floyd Mayweather championship bout or those that may have opted for the Contender Boxing Card lasy night, at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH) would obviously be drained and tired, but may not want to pass up another opportunity to be entertained when the Guyana Boxing Association stages several potentially action packed bouts at the Andrew ‘Sixhead’ Lewis Boxing Gym (ALBG) starting at 14:00hrs today.
This is another edition of the Demerara Distillers Ltd U-16 boxing cards and the Simon Pures out of several of the country’s gyms are expected to take part. These include the Forgotten Youth Foundation (FYF), Harpy Eagles (HEBG), Young Achievers (YABG), Pocket Rocket (PRBG), Rose Hall Jammers (RHJBG), Essequibo (EBG), Guyana Defence Force (GDF) and Carryl Boxing Gym (CBG).
The boxers will convene at the fight venue for weigh-in at 10:00hrs this morning, before officials conduct the draw and the card begins shortly afterwards.
Officials have also indicated that they are eying a venue at Vergenoegen, WCD for a similar card in December.
