Despite the inclement weather schools were closed in Linden and parents, teachers
and students braved the rain and attended the benefit concert for thirteen year old Monique Amsterdam as she prepares for her surgery in the United States.
Even though the Mc Kenzie Sports Club lost part of its roof in a recent storm in Linden, residents of Linden and Georgetown, converged there for a concert in honour of a High School student who is diagnosed with scoliosis.
The concert is part of a fund raising effort to assist Monique to have her surgery in the US, which will be done by Dr. Stephen Carryl also a Lindener.
Not only Lindeners performed but students of South Ruimveldt Secondary school, Calvin Burnett, Kwesi Ice and GT&T Jingle and Song winner Malaika Boyd.
Teachers of the National Dance School Shirley Inniss and La Vonne George were also present with students.
