32-year-old, Lubert De Young of Suddie Housing Scheme, on the Essequibo Coast, is lucky to be alive after surviving a fall from a three- storey building on Thursday.
De Young was taken to the Suddie Public Hospital in an unconscious state following the accident.
He has since regained consciousness, but remains a patient of the intensive care unit of the institution.
De Young suffered a punctured liver.
The mason, who said he suffers from hypertension, related that whilst working on the building at Anna Regina on Thursday last, he felt dizzy and proceeded to inform his boss, who took him over to the Anna Regina Health Center which is located opposite his work site.
The man said his blood pressure was checked by the medex on duty after which he returned to the construction site and continued working.
Shortly thereafter he fell from the three storey building which is in the early stage of construction, injuring himself.
He was picked up by his fellow workers and transported to the Suddie Public Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.
