As part of its anniversary promotion, the Medicine Chest Pharmacy which is considered one of the more established of its kind in Guyana, held a “Customer Appreciation Day Health Fair” recently at the entity’s Middle Street branch.
The proprietress of the pharmacy, Jackie Fraser, told Kaieteur News that the fair was an initiative to give back to customers in a way that would benefit their health condition. Fraser said that she was able to gain support for the event from the New Guyana Pharmaceutical Corporation (New GPC), Banks DIH, Ansa McAl, Geddes Grant and Wartsila.
Among the services offered were free hypertension tests, glucose tests and nutritional advice.
Customers were treated to drinks, ice-cream and cakes after their purchase.
Most seized the opportunity to purchase two Seven Seas products to win an umbrella, as part of a Geddes Grant promotion.
Pharmaceutical products were also distributed to customers, compliments of the New GPC.
Fraser said that the initiative was launched to also encourage other pharmacies and businesses, to give back to their customers, as no business can be sustained without them.
