Bravados Sports Club edged Strathavon Cricket Club by one wicket last Sunday after being bowled out for 137 in 28 overs at the Strathavon Cricket Club Ground. Chandrapaul Hemraj was the only one to put up a fight hitting 40 (5×4 1×6) while Gobinram Hemraj contributed 19 (2×4). Bowling for Bravados, Lakan (2-17) and Carl Gilkes (2-25) were the main wicket takers. Bravados in reply scraped home by reaching 138-9 in 29 overs with Terrence Capp hitting 22. For Strathavon, Chandrapaul Hemraj (2-10) and Gobinram Hemraj (2-21) bowled beautifully in a losing cause.
Because of the ground’s unplayable condition, a date and venue will be named shortly for the other semi-final between Perseverance and Unity in the Upper East Coast Zone. In the Lower East Coast Zone, Better Hope ‘B’ won the toss against the Enterprise Busta Sports Club ‘B’ and batted first on a good pitch in bright sunshine and made 164 all out in 33.5 overs at the Enterprise Community Ground.
Kevin Rampersaud stroked 34 (4×4 1×6) with Clive Rampersaud contributing 30 (3×4). Good bowling performances came from Vivian Albert (3-25) and Rohaman (2-18). Enterprise in reply reached 165- 9 in 32 overs to win by one wicket. Beepat smashed 63 (6×4 3×6) as Daniel Kowlessar had figures of 4-35 and Aroof Hamid (2-28) bowling for.
The East Coast Cricket Board is aiming to conclude this competition as soon as possible. Its premier tournament, the Carib Beer T20 and the finals is scheduled to be played under lights.
