Former Essequibo middle order batsman Elroy Stephney and University of Guyana second-division Captain Melroy Stephenson were both successful at the Guyana Cricket Umpires Council (GCUC) preliminary examination which was held on August 24 at Demerara Cricket Club.
Stephney gained 75 percent and Stephenson 61.
The GCUC has expressed gratitude to both individuals and wished them well as they prepare for the West Indies Cricket Umpires Association (WICUA) final written examination in 2015.
