Guyana’s return to competitive action after a lengthy hiatus saw the Golden Jaguars drawing with Dominica in the opening game of Group 6 action of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Caribbean Cup at Warner Park, St. Kitts & Nevis last evening.
The Guyanese matched their opponents in the first half as both goalkeepers were tested. The forwards also muffed chances at both ends. Dominica had the chance to take the lead in the final 10 minutes from the penalty spot when defender Steffon Ramsay was red carded.
The ensuing kick by Kenny Jean Baptise went wide of the goal and into the stands. Guyana will now turn attention to St. Lucia tomorrow at the same venue.
Last evenings feature game also ended in a 0-0 stalemate between the home team St. Kitts & Nevis and St. Lucia. Antigua & Barbuda hammered Anguilla 6-0 in their Group 5 encounter.
