Did you know that Clive Oiler Watson, Vurlon Mills and Trayon Bobb are the only Guyanese players to register a double in World Cup Qualifiers?

Since Guyana’s inaugural World Cup Qualifier against Suriname on July 4, 1976, only three players have the distinct honour of scoring a double. The first to achieve the feat was Pele FC’s Clive Oiler Watson. Watson scored twice against Grenada at the world famous GCC ground, Bourda when Guyana won that World Cup Qualifier 5-2, March 1980. He scored another double when Guyana eliminated the host 3-2 in the return fixture in St. Georges April, 1980.
Conquerors FC Vurlon Mills emulated Watson’s feat when he scored a double that give Guyana a 2-1 victory against Bermuda at the Providence National Stadium, August 2011.
Trayon Bobb added his name to this illustrious list by scoring a double against El Salvador in San Salvador. Bobb’s heroics enabled Guyana a hard fought 2-2 draw. Please find below, players that scored for Guyana in World Cup Qualifiers:
