Peters guides Rising Star to NOC T20 title with six-wicket victory
An unbeaten 86 from Ricardo Peters guided Rising Star to a six-wicket victory over Invaders Masters when the final of the New Opportunity Corps (NOC) T20 tournament was contested on Sunday last at NOC ground on the Essequibo Coast.
Peters slammed six fours and five sixes and dominated a fourth wicket stand of 70 with Rohan Ramdass (18*) as Rising Star finished on 139-4 in 18 overs in reply to Invaders Masters 135-6. Roy Gonsalves and Beesham Seepersaud captured two wickets each.

Earlier Roy Rampersaud and Gonsalves anchored Invaders Masters’ innings with a fifth wicket partnership of 67 after they were reduced to 45-4, batting first. Rampersaud scored 42 not out (2×4 3×6) while Gonsalves made 32 (3×4 2×6).
Rabindra Narine, Rovin Dusraj and Christopher Latchman picked up two wickets each. Peters was given man-of-the-match and best batsman prizes. Rising Star received a trophy and $30,000 and Invaders Masters a trophy and $15,000.
NOC overcame Jaguars by seven wickets in the third place playoff. Batting first, Jaguars managed 42-2 from their allocation of 15 overs. Norman Federicks scored 22. NOC responded with 46-3 in six overs. Ravi Beharry hit 20*.
