Aug 28, 2014 Letters
DEAR EDITOR,
Please refer to a letter, which appeared in the Kaieteur News issue of Thursday August 21, 2014, headlined “The sinister agenda of Mr. King is clearly exposed,” and written by Mark Fraser.
We, at Echo, do not have the time to bandy words about our position on securing the integrity of our natural environment and its resources. We are very clear about what we know and our role in the global and local efforts to protect the environment.
Therefore, we are not worried, at all, about spurious and inaccurate statements made by Mr. Fraser, in his letter.
We make no further comment except to say that judging from the contents of his letter, Mr. Mark Fraser appears to be part of a small group that has no respect for the environment and that seeks to rob our children and our children’s children of their future.
Mr. Fraser can talk all he wants, Echo remains fully committed to its mission. We will speak out, and, where necessary, take appropriate actions against any corporation, company or any other agency whose activities threaten the health of our environment, and local communities.
We speak for the environment; not for the government, corporations or anyone else.
Royston King
Executive Director
Environmental Community Health Organization
