A 22-year-old labourer accused of stealing three cows in the interior was granted bail when he appeared before Magistrate
Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Robert Khan was charged with stealing three heifers in Lethem between June 11 and June 13, last. The animals which cost a total of $300,000 belonged to Derrick Tunaram.
Khan pleaded not guilty to the charge. Police Prosecutor Inspector Michael Grant neither revealed the details of the theft in court nor made any objections to bail.
Khan was granted $100,000 bail and will make his next appearance before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on September 2.
