colleagues and villagers proud. Bobby Kewlochand, formerly of Goed Bananen Land, East Canje, Berbice and a former member of the Guyana Police Force, is back home on holiday.
The former village cricketer who played for the Betsy Ground and the Goed Bananen Cricket Clubs made sure that he did not return empty handed. On Saturday he and his wife took the opportunity to hand over a number of sporting gear inclusive of cricket bats, balls, pads, other equipment and cash to the newly formed Betsy Ground / Goed Bananen Land Police Youth Club and the Betsy Ground Triple Star Cricket Club. Most of the gear was destined for the cricket club.
Mr. Kewlochand, who served the Police Force from 1995 to 2004 before migrating, took the opportunity to present a token of appreciation to Police ‘B’ Division, Youth and Scout Coordinator and OC No.1 Sub Division Assistant Superintendent Guy Nurse who was accompanied by Chief Inspector Gregory Springer officer with responsibility for the East Canje District.
Both officers, Nurse and Springer, expressed their appreciation to their former colleague and expressed the hope that it will not be the last of his benevolence. (S. Whyte)
