Newest member of the aviation circuit, BK International will today welcome its newest addition to its recently purchased company, JAGS Aviation; a Cessna Grand Caravan 208B EX.
The company will host a grand cocktail reception in honour of the airplane’s arrival at the Ogle International Airport (OIA) today.
BK, one of the biggest names in the nation’s mining sector, recently diversified its services stretching into the aviation field. It purchased JAGS Aviation from its original owner, maintaining however, the name and most of the company signatures.
Public Relations Consultant of BK Group of Companies, Alex Graham had told media personnel that the local aviation sector has been busy, which led to the investment of the company. The BK Group acquired ownership of the domestic company, Jags Aviation, which is based at the OIA.
The PRO had stated that the company is seeking to have seven aircraft in its fleet, some, based on their size, will be operating from the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA).
While the company has its eyes set on the local sector and is also providing air support for its mining operations, BK is gearing to enter the regional market.
Mr. Brian Tiwari, the company’s chief director had told Kaieteur News that the aviation’s operations are the responsibility of his daughters, who he hinted are the driving force behind the investment. Graham had told media operatives that the new company is overseen by the “new generation of Tiwaries” who has joined the BK Group.
The Cessna 208 Caravan is a single-engine turboprop, fixed-tricycle landing gear, short-haul regional airliner and utility airplane that was built in the United States by Cessna. The aircraft typically seats nine passengers and a single pilot. It can also be used as a cargo aircraft.
