CARIBBEAN REGIONAL BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIPS 2014…
The Caribbean Regional Badminton Championships (CAREBACO) currently being played in Jamaica August 9-16, 2014
continued on Thursday August 14, 2014 with the Individual Singles Events at the Alfred Sangster Auditorium University of Technology Kingston.
Guyana secured two bronze and were to play for 6-Gold or Silver medals yesterday as the players advanced to the finals.
The Guyanese Players who were into the Finals are:
Priyanna Ramdhani-Under-13 Girls Singles & Under-15 Girls Doubles
Abosaide Cadogan-Under-13 Girls Doubles
Narayan Ramdhani-Under 17 Boys Singles & Doubles
Jonathan Mangra-Under-17 Boys Doubles
The Semi-Final Matches Played on Day 3 were:
Under-13 Girls Singles:
Priyanna Ramdhani defeated Mackenzie Howard of Barbados: 21-9, 21-5
Under-13 Mix Doubles:
Priyanna Ramdhani (GUY) & Zane Reid (JAM) lost to Adam Taylor & Shezelle Mctyson of Jamaica: 21-16, 21-19 in one of the most exciting matches of the day which was termed the Finals as the 4 best Under-13 players all ended up in one half of the Draw, while the other half had the weaker players. Priyanna had to settle for a Bronze in this event.
Under-15 Girls Doubles:
Priyanna Ramdhani (GUY) & Amanda Haywood (BAR) defeated Karie Dawson & Taliah Richardson of Jamaica:
21-13, 21-8
Under-17 Boys Singles:
Narayan Ramdhani was maintaining his top form and with the crowd behind him he defeated Jamaica’s No.2 Seed Dejon Wright: 21-8, 21-10
Under-17 Boys Doubles:
Narayan Ramdhani and Jonathan Mangra seeded No. 1 defeated Jerome Charles & Renaldo Sinanan of Trinidad: 21-18, 21-19.
