Another double header is planned tomorrow as play in the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) 10s’ Tournament resumes at the national Park, commencing from 16:00hrs. In the opening game, the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) will look to cement their position at the top of the points table when they face Hornets who shared the same points with Caribs in their first game last week.
The second game of the afternoon will see the University of Guyana tackle Caribs in what is anticipated to be a bruising battle as the academics search for their first set of points after succumbing to the soldiers last week in a closely fought contest.
Meanwhile, an official from the Union confirmed that the Annual Banks Sevens Tournament will be played on September 21, at the National Park. It was stated that the tournament along with the Sevens League that will be played from September 27 to October 11 will be used as the criteria for players to be selected on a provisional squad to commence preparations for the upcoming NACRA Championship scheduled to be held in Mexico in December.
The local ruggers will continue their busy schedule when they participate in the Caribs Anniversary Weekend Championships slated for October 25-26.
