Some 120 footballers under the age of 13 are participating in the East Demerara
Football Association (EDFA), Ministry of Culture and Sport (MCYS) sponsored Summer Camp which is taking place at the Golden Grove Community Centre ground, East Coast Demerara.
Twelve of the clubs affiliated to the EDFA were invited to send a total of ten players each; the youngsters would be lectured to on the Laws of the game, the technical aspects of football, health and nutrition, crime and human trafficking.
The five day programme commenced on Monday last and will conclude on Friday. This activity forms part of the EDFA’s plan for the continued development of young players. Their Under-13 tournament is set to kick off on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the association also completed their Under-17 league while their senior league is currently underway.
