Over 20 teams entered so far
With less than a week away preparations are winding down for the first ever 3-a-side Small Goal Knockout Football Competition organized by the Unity for the Nation Organisation and set to kick off on Sunday August 17th.
The activity is organized by popular Physical Fitness trainer Community Leader, activist and Sports Enthusiast, Eli Hazel, founder of the Unity for the Nation Organisation. The month long games is set to climax in September. Matches are set to take place on the Lawn of Fordy’s Subletta Catering at the Junction of Winkle Road and Tucber Park, New Amsterdam, Berbice beginning at 14:00hrs.
The rest of the playing days and a day for the final will be announced shortly as the organizers ascertain the amount of teams that has finally entered. So far over 20 teams have indicated an interest in being a part of the activity.
Teams from West Berbice, Corentyne, East and West Canje, New Amsterdam and East Bank Berbice have all indicated their interest in being part of the activity.
Teams are expected to consist of five players each with three playing at a time.
Attractive monetary and other prizes will be available for the top three teams as well as the outstanding individual performers.
