…Public Works Ministry trucks lay idle
Ten miles from Linden along the Ituni-Kwakani trail/road, there lies what was once a secret location for the Ministry of Public Works, where millions of dollars in equipment lay rotting unknown to the majority of Guyanese taxpayers.
This publication visited the location this past week and observed a number of trucks belonging to the Public Works Ministry stored at the location.
This location is manned by employees attached to the Ministry.
At the time of the visit by this newspaper there were two persons on site and according to them there were six others employees who were not on the location at the time.
The camp is located just off of the trail, oblivious to passersby.
According to reports, the vehicles have been stored at the site for as much as two years. However, none of them is being used.
Apart from the trucks that are stored at the location, there are a number of brand new tires on the site.
It is unclear why the Ministry has the equipment stored on the location.
