The country’s road fatality figure continues to climb following another accident at Lethem yesterday afternoon.
The latest victim is 21-year old Roger King Jr., of Tabatinga, Central Rupununi. The man’s motorcycle crashed into another vehicle at the junction of Kanuku Drive and Beverly Hill Drive around 16:00 hours.
He died while receiving treatment at the Lethem Hospital.
According to reports, King Jr. who was proceeding along Kanuku Drive failed to stop at the intersection with Beverly Hill Drive and slammed into a passing vehicle.
Eyewitnesses said that he was riding so fast that he was hurled about 18 metres (60 feet) from the point of impact.
The other vehicle, which was also proceeding at a fast rate, was only brought to a stop several metres away.
