As the Everest Cricket Club centenary year activities continued, Everest hosted a football team Weg Nast Zee from Suriname last Saturday.
The team consisted of a number of businessmen who sought to interact with the Everest membership.
The Suriname team played an Everest combined team which included members from the footballing arena in Guyana. Weg Nast Zee emerged victorious 1 nil.
In brief remarks the president of the Everest Cricket Club Stephen Lewis welcomed the Suriname team and stated that the event was a step in the right direction as it was a manifestation of a vision to increase the variety of sporting activities the club offers.
On hand to witness the game was president of GFF Christopher Matthais.
