With a proud heart, the executives, members and staff of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) extend congratulations to the national team for capturing the 2014 edition of the Regional U-15 50-over title.
Needing to win their final round game against host Jamaica, Guyana who began the match leading the table by a slim .1 of a point, defeated their opponents by 11 runs on Wednesday at Melbourne.
A release from the GCB stated that they were confident that this team would have done well.
Out of five games, the Guyanese registered four wins and suffered one defeat to finish on 25 points while runner-up Barbados ended on 19.5.
Apart from marking its name on the title, Guyana were awarded the most disciplined team while Kevin Sinclair received the best bowler prize for claiming 11 wickets. Coach Julian Moore and Manager Andy Ramnarine were given special accolades.
“We are now looking forward to our U-19 team beating Trinidad and Tobago and take the three-day title”, the release further stated.
