Dear Sir,
Some of us are involved in a “comedy of errors” and are so amused with all the “kick-back” that we are not aware of our presence until we become conscious of ourselves. This is the situation of the “THREE MUSKETEERS IN GECOM”.
These three individuals are unaware of the many flaws which occurred within GECOM during the tenure of the previous Chief Executive Officer and now they are crying foul. Like my dear President Donald Ramotar, and the now genius Attorney General Anil Nandlall, who are lamenting what the combined Opposition Parties allowed to take place in 2012 and 2013 in the National Assembly.
How dare the PPPC now interfere with the work of GECOM and find faults? GECOM is an autonomous body. According to sources it is a “family of workers” where all the goodies of the taxpayers’ dollars only reach out to family members. The financial budget which the PPPC government releases to GECOM is usually exhausted from time to time.
We notice this in the media when the GECOM Chairman has to beg for its financial allocation to carry out its mandate. And more over, we also learn that GECOM staff has to work over-time without any payment. The reason advanced, is that the same staff would normally be in their office with nothing to do. The entire workforce in government offices does nothing or has very little to do.
My “THREE MUSKETEERS” should remain conscious about their job responsibilities as Commissioners. The Party you are representing has activists in the fields to guide the Commission. They too were in slumber, based on your outbursts regarding the readiness of GECOM for Local Government Elections. Our Minister of Local Government Mr. Norman Whittiker also awoke suddenly to blurt out that Guyanese are not fully educated for an election.
The People’s Progressive Party is fully aware that its supporters are disgruntled with the “Vampirism” they are facing in Guyana. This is evident in the PPPC recent surveys and it’s a reality that makes the party uneasy.
