The Continental Group of Companies through its Sunburst Juice brand has stepped up to the plate in assisting Lindani Jamal Anderson financially on learning that he would be travelling to the US for the Baltimore Orioles Academy.
Corporate Secretary Percival Boyce Jr. made a presentation to Jamal and urged him to make the best of this opportunity and to leave a broad path for others to follow, he also noted that while baseball was relatively new to Guyana it was already providing opportunities and a pathway to sustainability and success.
GBL Athlete representative Mr. Leslie Black thanked the Continental Group and Sunburst Juice for their quick response; he also noted that the Group was well known as a friend to all in the sporting fraternity and a staunch supporter of young Guyanese sportsmen and women.
Jamal arrived at the Academy in Florida on Saturday afternoon and was to make his playing debut as Designated Hitter for the Orioles academy side against a Red Sox development team on Sunday afternoon.
