Dear Editor,
I take this opportunity to share a positive story of my family experience with the emergency service at the Georgetown Hospital. On the 17th July my mother had to be rushed to the Georgetown Hospital from Essequibo Coast.
She had been involved in a freak accident where she suffered nine fractured ribs, a fractured femur and a fractured hip.
Unable to deal with this at Suddie Hospital, she was referred to Georgetown Hospital.
The nurse and doctor at the registration/ reception were very pleasant, quick and informative. The General Surgeon who received her was extremely patient, kind and detailed in his explanation.
I was extremely proud and pleased with the interaction with the young orthopedic team and the care they delivered to my mother.
Thank you to the emergency medical technician who took care in administering her duties. I also wish to thank the young female porter who was very gentle and pleasant in the execution of her duties.
To the team at the Suddie Hospital, Sister Pearson, Nurse Mentor, the young male doctor and the ambulance driver, thank you, you all did a wonderful job!
My sisters and I were very pleased and happy with the service and care our mother received through the emergency care and we like to say a big thank to the teams that worked the 22:30hrs to 9:00am shift 17th July to 18th July 2014.
Continue to enjoy and practice great team work, continue to care.
I also take this opportunity to express sincere gratitude our neighbours at Henrietta, Essequibo Coast Sirah, her son Eddie, Cousin Iva, Ashna, Cousin Courline and Aunty Norma thank you only because of your quick thinking and care we still have our mother with us. Heartfelt thank to you all.
Cassie
