Several sponsors and horses have inked their names for the Port Mourant Turf Club (PMTC) grand one day meet set for this Sunday, 27th July. The event is being held in collaboration with Horse Owners in Guyana and will be held at the club’s track at Port Mourant, Corentyne Berbice.
Over $7M is up for grabs with entries swelling to over 70 so far for the seven race meet.
Meanwhile, a number of sponsors led by Banks DIH Limited, Inshan Bacchus Business Enterprise and Trucking Service, Digicel, Jumbo Jet, Romell Jagroop, Toolsie Persaud, Buffalo Energy Drink, Chris Jagdeo Construction, Mohamed Rahim and Taljit Depot are among those on board.
Most of the events are almost full with the list of the races reading -The feature D and lower event, for a first prize of $1M and trophy over one mile. It has such entries as Red and Lovely, Got to Go, Milwaukee Bliss, Do Nut Prince, Jack Is My Style, Young Elite and Africanist.
The event for 3yrs old Guyana and West Indies Bred horses maiden horses for a winning take of $500,000 over 1500M already has Unsettled, Release The Beast, Today Is My Day, Royal Empire, Quiet Dancer, Time to Dance and Settling Jet.
The E3 and lower event with a first prize of $500,000 and trophy over 1200M will see the likes of Princess Alisha, The Message, Home Bush Baby, It’s My Turn, Mission King, Captain Crook, Fresh Again and Right To Rule.
A full box has already being entered for the G1 and lower event Including Traditional man, Rosetta, Battle Hymn, Bridal Stone Corner, Another Jet, Joyful Victory, Feels Like Gold, Quiet Storm, She So special, Isabella, War Craft, and Marathon Man. The winner will take away $400,000 and trophy over 1200M.
The Two year old Guyana and West Indies Bred horses event has It’s My Choice, Strom Bird, Keep on Singing, Danger in the Park Midnight Blue competing for a $300,000 first prize over 1000M in the running.
Famous Pride, Affinity, I want Revenge, De Gump, Mary Ann and I Got Another, I are among those entered in the ‘I’ and lower 1200M race for the winning pocket of $250,000 and trophy.
The J1 and lower event has the likes of Prince Bayaya, Royal Intention, Little McGyver, Quincy, Silver Kid, Prixie Fire among others racing for a winning prize of $200,000 and trophy over 1200M.
Outstanding individual performers including top Jockey, trainer and stable will be presented with trophies compliments of the organisers.
The races will be run under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority (GHRA).
