Top Guyana club side, Alpha ‘The Hammer’ United will take their preparations to another level today ahead of the 2014/15 edition of the CONCACAF Champions League, the region’s premier competition for clubs.
They will be involved in a warm-up game against a select side at the Guyana Defence Force ground, Camp Ayangana where they have been undergoing intense preparations recently.
The players, under the astute guidance of Head Coach Wayne Dover, Assistant Coach Sampson Gilbert and Goalkeeper Coach Andrew Hazel will be given the opportunity to showcase what they have been learning in the past two weeks.
Alpha have been drawn in Group 5 of the CCL and will open their campaign against Club Deportivo Olimpia of Honduras on August 5 at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence while they will also entertain Portland Timbers of the USA at the same venue on August 19 in their two home games.
Their away games would be played later this year.
