All systems are in place for a grand time at the races as the organizers of the Bush Lot United Turf Club Horserace Meet set for today at the Club’s entity, Sea View Park, Bush Lot West Coast West Coast Berbice has given the all clear that the meet is definitely on.
Last minute entries has pushed the participating animals to over 70 for the eight races which has a total prize package of over $7 M in cash, trophies and other incentives available. The venue is in immaculate condition and a bumper crowd is anticipated.
A look at the full racing programme with some entries reads: the Feature ‘D’ and lower 1400M event for $1M and trophy has 11 of the top horses entered including Milwaukee Bliss, Settle In Seattle, The Message, California Strike, City Tune, Young Elite, Red and Lovely, Jack is My Style, Fresh Again, Princess Alicia and Unsettled.
The horses entered for the F and lower 1400M event for the $500,000 and trophy winners take includes Mission King, Fresh Again, War Craft, Rosetta, Quiet Strom and Princess Alicia among others.
Strom Bird, Above All Odds, It’s My Choice and Keep on Singing leads the new entrants into racing for the two year old West Indies Bred 1000M event for $400,000 and trophy on offer. The G3 and lower 1200M event has a full house with the likes of, War Craft, Ameera’s Joy, Traditional man, Princess Alicia, Isabella, Release The Beast, Battle Hymn, Gold Majesty Princess Page, East To Win, She So Special, The Gump, Comprador, Secret Circle, Cat Messiah and Quiet Storm set to battle for the $300,000 and trophy.
The J, class 1400M match up has the likes of Smarty Light, Little, Natasha, Jealous Intention, Royal Cash, Pixie Fire and Red Jet set to burn up the track for the $200,000 and trophy.
There is the event for K class animals over 1200M race for a winner’s take of $150,000 and trophy. Among some of the horses entered to competed are Silver Kid, Secretariat, Grey Boy, Another Storm, Million Dollar Man and Little McGyver.
The other two events are the -The three Year old 1200M event for West Indies bred animals’ for a first prize of $400,000 and the ‘I’ and lower 1200M event for a winning purse of $250,000.
The top individual performers including top jockey, stable and trainer will be presented with trophies and other incentives.
According to coordinator Lakeram ‘Buddy’ Sukhdeo the track is in excellent condition despite the passing showers and all is set to go. He stated that, “due to the amount of work that we have put in I don’t think that the weather would affect us that easily.” The main grandstands, stable, paddock, rails, officials and commentator’s box and the track have all been renovated.
